Research into stress and DSE link
Stress seems to be endemic in modern society, both inside and outside the workplace. At the same time, MSD’s or Cumulative Trauma Disorder (CTD’s) are increasing at a rate faster than any other occupational injury.
In 2002, the HSE reported that stress and MSD’s accounted for two thirds of all days taken off work due to self-reported illness.
Cardinus' US partner Omega Ergonomics has produced a guide "Beyond Biomechanics: The Relationship Between Workplace Stress and Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs)" which explores this subject in depth.
Using this research organisations can develop a proactive approach to the impact of stress and MSD’s on the health of their workforce.
