As a global leader in the Construction and Engineering industry, Parsons is
constantly looking for opportunities to deliver improved business results. After
identifying that a large percentage of their occupational injuries were
musculoskeletal disorders, many of which were not a result of the physically
demanding work associated with their engineering and construction projects, but
the result of employees who performed their work in an office environment,
something had to change.
With hundreds of locations throughout the world, Parsons knew that preventing
these injuries would be challenging. How would they deliver training? How would
they proactively assess risk? Could they empower employees in remote locations
to take responsibility for their risk reduction?
After evaluating several vendors, Parsons teamed with Cardinus to implement
Workstation Safety Plus and PACE. Within a year of implementation, Parsons was
able to evidence a 50% reduction in injuries and a 75% reduction in associated
injury costs. Needless to say, their executives were very pleased with the
results.
