Cardinus team up with National Safety Council to host first Health & Safety Forum in London – 4th December 2008 Cardinus, (a THB Group plc member company) - providers of online injury reduction solutions and risk management within the safety, fleet, Insurance and property sectors, sponsored and organised the 2008 European Environment, Health & Safety Forum on 4th December at 107 Leadenhall Street, London in conjunction with the National Safety Council of the USA.

 Cardinus and THB Group had a fantastic turn out of some of their most valued clients, plus NSC (National Safety Council) members and clients flew from worldwide destinations including Saudi Arabia and Germany.

The Forum consisted of a morning of speakers, including a representative of the EU Occupational Safety & Health Agency, on topics such as ‘Economic Incentives to Improve Occupational health’, and ‘The Role of Environment Health & Safety in Corporate Social Responsibility.’ The morning was led by Barry Holt – National Safety Council, Regional Director, Europe, whose presentation focused on ‘Integrating EHS Management in to business planning.’

The second half of the one day event gave attendees the chance to breakout into workshop style sessions, where they debated and contributed towards topics such as ‘Building Employee Involvement.’

Jon Abbott, Managing Director, Cardinus said: “We are delighted to be involved with what we hope will become a regular forum. The day was a complete success and feedback from all of the delegates is worthy of a mention with the majority asking when the next forum would be.”

He went on to say, “Together with the NSC, we have clearly identified a real need for industry professionals to get together and share their viewpoints and expertise around these types of EHS issues. We were extremely encouraged with the high level of attendance, especially from places as far away as Saudi Arabia.”
