Cardinus provide a comprehensive range of stress management solutions to suit your organization.

According to the Health & Safety Commission an estimated 530,000 workers are thought to have sought medical advice for work-related stress in 2006. This is a significant increase on the previous year when numbers are believed to be 110,000.

As our organizations continue to change it is likely we will see a continued increase in levels of stress and absence. As a result Cardinus has developed a number of products, services and programs to help you manage stress and keep employees working healthily.

Managing Stress at Work is a highly engaging e-learning course designed to help your managers:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of what stress is and the difference between stress and pressure
  • Understand how stress may affect an employee, their family, their team and their organization
  • Recognise the early symptoms of stress at work
  • Know how to interact with and support individuals who are stressed

Managing Stress at Work encourages managers to build their own “Action Plan” so they can adopt the skills they have learnt. These action plans can be revisited at any time to measure progress.

Hyperlinks are also given for internal and external resources ensuring your managers and supervisors feel confident they have the support needed to tackle this difficult area.

This online survey/risk assessment is based on the HSE Indicator Tool for Work-Related Stress. The questions and scoring are identical to the HSE methodology so data can be used for benchmarking against other organizations.

The Stress Indicator can be used as a standalone application or, for maximum results, why not use it alongside Managing Stress at Work?

The Stress Indicator process begins with automated emails being sent to each of your employees. The emails contain a link connecting to the Indicator survey. This can run on the Cardinus web server or your own intranet.

Employees simply step though the questionnaire, answering each question to the best of their ability. Data is saved back to Cardinus’ management module PACE database for analysis.

The Indicator is based on the HSE scoring system from 1 (poor performance) to 5 (good performance). Because PACE uses a risk scoring system where 0 is low and 10 is high risk, all the HSE scores have been reversed and based on a scale of 10. To enable customers to use the HSE benchmarking spreadsheet, Cardinus have provided a data output which will enable total scores to be copied straight into the HSE spreadsheet for further analysis.
