Cardinus Fleet aim to provide proof of the following for any employees driving on company business:
- All valid driving documents.
- The correct entitlement for driving their category of vehicle.
- An established risk rating, appropriately managed.
- Details of any relevant training.
- For grey fleet drivers, i.e. those who use their own vehicles on company business, the checks can be extended to include:
- The appropriate level of business insurance.
- MOT.
The driver permit is delivered through Cardinus Fleet’s electronic management information system, PACE. This can take the form of alerts to inform drivers they have yet to undertake a risk assessment, complete mandatory training or have invalid car insurance. It also allows drivers to be contacted individually via email to inform them that they are failing to meet necessary business driving criteria or that their eligibility is reaching its renewal date for one or more of the necessary elements.
These permits should be renewed annually, and we ensure that reminders are provided in advance of their expiry.
