This practical workshop will introduce the participants to the key components of an effective emergency plan. It will provide them with the opportunity to practice building such a plan and allow them to develop a draft plan for their own facility under supervised conditions.
Although robust risk assessments may be carried out, and control measures implemented to reduce risks, there is always a residual probability that an event might occur. Should this happen an organisation should have a well-developed and practiced emergency plan that can be activated immediately. In many incidents we have seen the benefits of such a plan; in others we have seen the lack of such a plan lead to major loss or even the company going out of business.
